Our Optimise, Train, and Restore pillars are the key to this success and our team provides every facet required on our clients journey. Daniel Ousby - Club Manager

Daniel has nearly 20 years experience in the health, wellness & fitness industry. Ranging from Personal Training through to Business Operations in Senior Management positions. Daniel’s career has led him to manage high-end health club facilities in London & throughout Asia.

Daniel’s eye for detail and passion for high standards in fitness facilities promises to ensue The Rec Room delivers unparalleled service to its members.

Moa Nordlund - Customer Service Supervisor

As a young professional with a diverse background, Moa’s experience spans over three different countries and a range of different fields. From teaching physical education classes, coordinating & leading teams within the oil industry & business operations. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, her varied expertise & passion for social dynamics allows her to have a firm understanding of interpersonal relationships & organisational structure.

Moa has always had a keen interest in sports which not only reflects her love for physical activity but also serves as a driving force behind her commitment to fostering an active and healthy lifestyle.

COACHING TEAM

James Finn

James’ career spans 15 years and four continents. As a trainer, educator, and mentor James has worked with collegiate athletes, Junior World Champions, Olympians, professional athletes, and high-achieving individuals from the world of business.

Compassion and purpose are hallmarks of James’ approach to training, with your unique needs, goals, and experience serving as its foundation. With a bachelor´s Degree in Sports Rehabilitation, a Master´s Degree in Strength & Conditioning, and an unrivaled fascination with optimizing all facets of one’s life, James is well-positioned to support you on your wellness journey.

Aaron Froelich

Aaron has over 10 years of experience in training clients to help them achieve their health and fitness goals ranging from fat loss to building muscle. During his time at some of the most exclusive facilities in London and Dubai he has trained some of the world’s leading business personalities and A-List celebrities.

Aaron has a BSc honors degree in Human Nutrition which has helped him achieve optimal health and aesthetic goals with his clients.

Sue Merren

Sue has been coaching & changing lives in Grand Cayman for over 20 years. Her approach is to “train with intent” by meeting her clients where they’re at and coaching them to where they want to go, whether that’s increasing strength, changing body composition, improving overall heath, or athletic performance.

As well as being a fully certified Pilates Instructor (educated in both BASI and Stott methods), certified OPEX CCP Strength Coach and a certified Precision Nutrition L1&L2 Nutrition Coach her solid foundation of knowledge, her holistic approach, and her experience are what give her the ability to empower her clients to become their personal best. Her teaching style is fun, compassionate, results-oriented, and professional.

Wyatt Bodden

Wyatt is a Fitness Instructor with an unwavering passion for health, wellness, and performance ever since a young age. Wyatt’s athletic background shines through his accomplishments as a national-level track and field athlete. In 2019, he competed at The Carifta Games, setting personal bests in the 1500m as well as competing in the 800m and 4x400m races respectively.

Wyatt’s continued dedication to the realm of fitness and fixation with the constant evolvement of one’s self mentally and physically only drives him to keep delivering an exceptional experience to clients in the hopes of helping them achieve their personal wellness goals while instilling them with a strong sense of fulfillment and satisfaction.

Elda Fuentes

While she may be new to the professional fitness scene, Elda understands the challenges and triumphs that come with striving for a healthier lifestyle.

A key part of of our Fitness Instruction team, she holds a Certification at the prestigious NASM- National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach.

She is here to support you and motivate every step of the way embracing individual strengths and celebrating progress, committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where you can thrive.

THERAPY TEAM

Taylor Ball

Taylor studied Sport and Exercise Science at the University of South Wales. He focused his undergraduate years on concussion and traumatic brain injury research before graduating with honors. He later moved on to the University of Bath to study soft tissue therapy. He has since worked with professional track and field athletes and has been heavily involved with professional and amateur rugby teams.

INSTRUCTOR TEAM

Ronnie Hughes - Boxing/MMA Instructor

Ronnie is a former British Military Physical Training Specialist and served over 10 years for his country teaching marines, commanding officers and civilians for operational readiness. A martial artist for over 30 years, he was awarded his black belt in 2018 in Krav Maga (Israeli Close Quarter Combatives).

Samara Persaud - Yoga Instructor

Samara loves to practice and study many styles of yoga from yin, nidra, power, flow, kundalini to hot. Her passion is sharing nourishing practices incorporating guided meditation and conscious breathwork focusing on releasing stagnation physically, mentally, and emotionally bringing us back to a state of calm and peace. Regular practice has brought much balance into Samara’s life. The most profound impacts are noticeable off the mat in everyday life (stress relief, breath awareness, listening skills, posture/alignment). For Samara it is truly a pleasure to share the gift of yoga. Yoga is a practice for everybody, and she looks forward to sharing and practicing with you!

Linsey Gammel - Yoga Instructor

Linsey has been practicing yoga for 20 years, and teaching since 2012. She initially trained in India in traditional Hatha and Meditation, and has since expanded into the styles of Vinyasa Flow, Power, Yin, Restorative, and Therapeutic. She loves helping students find the link between the physical and the spiritual, the body and mind. Her classes are centered around mindful movement paired with conscious breath.

Polly Serpell - Yoga Instructor

Being from the Cayman Islands, Polly grew up spending a lot of time outdoors and in the ocean. Movement and Sport have always been a big part of her life and she especially enjoys taking her practice outdoors and even on the ocean. After completing her Yoga teacher training she adventured around the world, teaching and experiencing all different types of yoga, from traditional Ayurvedic teachings in India to sweaty Vinyasa Flows in Mexico. Moving home after some time, she is excited to share a well-rounded practice that incorporates many of her experiences.

Kiristen Cousins - Yoga Instructor

Kiristen Cousins is a E-200HR Certified Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) & Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). Kiristen has been featured in several publications including Forbes Magazine, SUP the Magazine, Men’s Health Magazine, Samata Magazine, Stand Up Journal and more. She has worked the famous Wanderlust Yoga Festival on the SUP Yoga Team and on productions with HBO, Hulu and numerous campaigns with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism.

Gizem Acar - Pilates Instructor

Gizem completed her Pilates certification at the STOTT PILATES International Training Center in Toronto after being introduced to Pilates by her personal trainer and recognizing its numerous health benefits. Before becoming a certified Pilates instructor, Gizem trained in classical ballet with the Royal Academy of London in Istanbul, where she gained a deep understanding of movement patterns that balance form, flexibility, and strength. Moreover, Gizem holds certifications as a personal trainer through ISSA and as a certified nutritionist. Her diverse training in various disciplines provides her with a unique understanding of movement, enabling her to approach teaching with creativity and a holistic perspective.

Emiley Johnson - Spin Instructor

Emiley Johnson is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with over 15 years of experience in coaching, fitness, and strength training – with a focus on girls and women.  Emiley holds a certification in Nutrition and Healthy Living from Cornell University.  She is a Spin Instructor, Specialist in Women’s & Senior Fitness, and has earned a certification in Pre & Post Natal Corrective Exercise. She believes in approaching fitness and nutrition intuitively.  Whether her client is a new mother, someone who is post injury/surgery, or an athlete, Emiley coaches her clients to listen to their body.

Julia Meyerhoff - Spin Instructor

Julia has always been a fitness enthusiast. From playing field hockey, lacrosse, and Gaelic football, to receiving her yoga teacher certification, Julia has always been an avid athlete. But after 2 ACL and meniscus reconstruction surgeries, Julia now looks at spinning as her sport and her riders as her team. Becoming an instructor in 2020 has given her the opportunity to encourage and guide others on their own health and wellness journeys. Her goal is to push riders past the comfort zone, helping to create lasting results in a fun and positive environment.

Jerome Ameline - Spin Instructor

Jerome has been living on the island since 2002 and has been teaching spinning classes since 2006 on a weekly basis. Certified as a spinning instructor, he is also an avid road cyclist. Safety is a priority, his spin classes are not designated by level as each student is encouraged to work at their own pace. Jerome will make sure that you will be treated personally and monitored closely throughout your training experience.
